Manganese
This trace element is important for a proper utilization of different vitamins, e.g. vitamin C. It is also needed for the production of protein, sugar, fat, and cholesterol and is also involved in metabolic processes in the bones and nerves.

Manganese is contained in vegetables, nuts, whole wheat, fruits, cloves and ginger, coffee and seaweed. Gross deficiencies have not been documented but deficiencies created in a metabolic unit suggest the mineral is important to maintain the integrity of the skin, bone and menstrual cycle, and in cholesterol metabolism.
